Gerard Closset - Wildlife photographer

Gerard Closset is a nature and wildlife photographer who enjoys exploring destinations off the beaten path that can be observed and photographed essentially as they were hundreds of years ago. A resident of Block Island, the island remains Gerard’s favorite place, a home to regain a sense of peace and to find new ways to capture the beauty and uniqueness of this small island. Gerard’s goal for many years has been to depict the island as a throwback to a simpler era when life was slower paced - especially off-season. His show exhibits only Block Island images and includes a wide spectrum of images: black and white photos of old barns, stone walls and landmarks in the fog or snow that recreate a special mood and colorful set of images such as fishing boats, cottages and flowers. Gerard is a member of NANPA, the North American Nature Photography Association and many conservation organizations. He has shown his work at the KAW gallery in Naples, Florida, the Island Gallery in Block Island and on his website www.exoticwildlifephotos.com.
