Jerry Powers

 

All my life I have loved making visual images. It is my nature to have done this regularly, persistently and unsystematically. I try to respond to subjects and materials in ways that keep me interested and challenged. I hope you'll enjoy the variety of work that this approach has occasioned.

During the years that I was teaching, I got in the habit of working at odd intervals (usually school vacations), and I didn't worry about any lack of continuity between one painting and the next. Furthermore, I decided that I would not try to market my work until I had more time to devote to the process. As a result, I am offering this summer paintings created this year and others from years ago that have never been exhibited for sale.
