Painting is a joyous exploratory journey for me. It is a place where I immerse myself into self-imagination and discovery. When I sit in front of my canvas, paints and brushes ready, I begin to make a connection with the subject and everything else in my life falls away. I begin to feel my way inside the subject with my mind. I notice the colors, shapes, textures, patterns, edges and soft lines. My intent is to draw the viewer's attention to a memory.

I love to paint and am continually inspired by nature. I hope that the collectors of my work can be touched in some way to "Stop and Smell the Roses" for a moment and reflect on the joy and beauty that has been given to us each day.

I hope that the passion I have for art and the passion I have to share nature's beauty is reflected in my work. I can be reached in my studio at the Providence Art Club Historic Deacon Taylor Studios, first floor, 9 Thomas Street, Providence, RI. My studio is open every third Thursday of the month during gallery night from 5 to 9PM and / or by appointment. 401-864-2379. joanmcconaghy@yahoo.com Please visit my website for more artwork: www.enfieldgallery.com
